This route allows you to experience a greater part of Alaska and includes the city of Anchorage. While the first two routes are commonly taken by mainstream cruise lines, the third is not. The third possible itinerary is often reserved for adventure expeditions only and travels the Bering Sea.

You may be wondering what you can do on your shore excursions. A better question is, what can't you do? There are so many adventures to enjoy. If you're hungry, get something to eat at one of the many dining establishments. Looking for souvenirs? There are countless shops owned by locals that offer gorgeous handmade items. Maybe you really want to get into nature. You can take hiking tours through the wilderness or sail past glaciers on a boat. You can even see the majesty that is Alaska from a helicopter if you like. There are also bus tours through certain areas of national parks where you can see the nature and wildlife from the comfort and safety of your seat.

You can visit museums and parks devoted to the history of this great state, which includes the gold rush of the early 20th century.
